Raul Neama from C.S. Luna, national champion at 50m “butterfly”

The Romanian Federation of Swimming and Modern Pentathlon organized between 8-12th of July at the Olympic Swimming pool – Dinamo Bucharest “ANATOL GRINTESCU the International Swimming Championships, the first competition of this kind after 34 years, which appears in the official FINA calendar.
According to the starting list, 270 athletes from 9 countries were enrolled: Georgia, Tunisia, Montenegro, Hungary, France, USA, Qatar, the Netherlands and Romania, the host country. Additionally, at the competition held in Bucharest two top swimmers attended, the Dutch Sharon Van Rouwendaal and the Hungarian Katinka Hosszu, designated in 2014 as the best swimmer in Europe and worldwide.
Luna Sports Club Brasov was represented by the 17-year-old junior Neama Raul, who ranked 1st in the 50m butterfly trial (25’’75), 2nd in the 100m (56’’25) and the 200m butterfly trial (2’08’’10) for his age category; for the seniors ranking occupying the 5th and the 4th position. Raul’s results can qualify him for the world junior championships in Singapore.
