AQUA CHALLENGE MAMAIA, OPEN WATER

The beach around the Casino area in Mamaia hosted at the beginning of this weekend the first open water swimming marathon in Romania, project started at the initiative of the only Olympic medalist in the history of Romanian male swimming history, Răzvan Florea. Aqua Challenge Mamaia 2011 gathered over 200 participants, aged between 9 and 71 years old, and carried out two different trials: 1500 and 5000 meters.

Into this competition, valuable names like Ştefan Gherghel, Dragoş Coman, or Anca Patrascoiu were drawn. Alongside them, George Munteanu competed and obtained 1st place in the 5000m trial and Ana Cristina Dima who obtained 1st place in the 1500m trial, both coaches at the Luna Sports Club in Brasov, who brought notable results through its athletes.
