CS Luna Sports Club offers triathlon classes.

Triathlon is a sport composed of three successive parts: swimming, cycling and running. The first triathlon race took place in 1974 in San Diego. In 1978 the first triathlon competition, Ironman Triathlon was organized, in Hawaii, on the island of Oahu. Later it was moved to Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii. Triathlon’s Olympic debut took place in 2000 at Sydney.

Triathlon workouts are very beneficial, each sport having its well-defined role. By running you tone the legs and abdominal muscles, burn calories and it is recommended for strengthening the circulatory system. Swimming helps develop the upper parts of the body: chest, shoulders and back and it serves to increase lung capacity. Cycling is indicated for the legs, defines them as much as running.

About triathlon

Triathlon is a highly regarded discipline that involves three sports and addresses all muscle groups, developing the whole body. It is a complex activity.

By its elements and specific techniques, triathlon can be approached as a philosophy by athletes, helping them to become better.

Swimming does not involve using your feet a lot, like professional swimmers. Your resources are kept for cycling and running. The speed during cycling is not high either, because you need to keep your legs toned and flexible. Also, the race does not involve running in platoon or train as practiced riders in special races do. Running is different too and the athletes feel the effects of the previous segments.

By combining these three sports, you achieve an athletic body, with a proportional development of each part of the body. Energy consumption is considerable, all body systems being solicited.

Triathlon involves a good physical strength but practiced often it is very beneficial for both your body and mind.
